Dahlia Spring 2022

This is a good start to the spring season. I’ve got my garden planted, flowers are blooming and the bees are visiting. I’ve had some mishaps along the way with getting my seedlings started. My mini greenhouse turned over from the gusty winds and well lets just say I planted a plethora of “I don’t know what the heck this is!”. Its ok though I took it on the chin and kept it moving. I saved the tomatoes and the lettuce and I guess I will have to be happy with that this year. I was able to plant enough things to keep my chickens fed and happy so I would say it was a win for them. I would say I’m am not an experienced gardener by any means but I will say I love to do it and as long as it is making me smile I will continue. I purchased 20 varieties of Dahlias last year and I underestimated the weight of those flower heads so I promised myself I would do better this year and stake them like I was suppose to and already I can see a drastic difference in the way they are growing. Thankfully I was able to repot them and save them.

All this to say I hope your garden season brings you an abundance of joy, vegetables and flowers. If you you have a little mishap along the way don’t let it discourage you. There is always joy to be found in everything. Happy Spring!
