Our story

It all begins with an idea. Oh it’s not my idea. I have always thought of myself as a behind the seens, only in the privacy of my own home crafter, decorator, and gardener. I created to keep myself from drowning in the day to day 9-5 work week. I’ve tried a number of things that peak my interest and I love to do it all, its hard to settle on how to spend my free time.

I started doing little projects for friends, fund raisers, donations of time and creations, but I never thought anyone would actually pay attention to the crazy things I was doing. Little by little people started remarking that I should in some way put my energy to use more publicly. A little over a year ago I moved, retired from my high stress job and decided to try this thing for real.

My family purchased a wonderful yellow farm house-ish home in the middle of the city but we have created our own little universe here and I couldn’t be happier. I spend my days, decorating our home, thrifting (I’m obsessed), gardening and playing with our animals. Right now that happens to be a puppy named Snoop, two chickens Hannah and Barbara, a ton of squirrels, two worm farms and as of now two hummingbirds.

I wake up excited about the day and all the things I will get to create. I am truly blessed, grateful, thankful and just plain full of joy. I am now that stay at home mom that annoys her kids, talks to the dog all day, wears overalls most days and my hands are covered in paint or dirt. I can’t say my life is glamorous but I was never looking for that, only to feel at peace in the comfort of my own life.

We continually have family over, toys everywhere, my nieces running around, bikes on the grass, blowup swimming pool in the back yard and often quilts on the grass with random family members napping. It has become a safe heaven for myself and all my family. This sweet yellow house is where we all come to spend our precious time.
